02Getting Started
NZ Tariff Classifier works directly inside Microsoft Teams — no account registration or login is required. Once the app is installed:
- Type a plain-language description of your goods in the chat, e.g. "What is the tariff code for bluetooth headphones?"
- The bot will return the relevant HS classification code from the NZ Customs Working Tariff Document.
- Type help at any time to see instructions and supported commands.

03Common Issues
- Bot not responding: Try removing and reinstalling the app in Teams. If the issue persists, email us with a description of what happened.
- Unexpected classification result: Results are guidance only and may not cover all edge cases. For complex goods, include as much detail as possible in your description, or contact NZ Customs directly for a binding ruling.
- App not appearing in Teams store: Search for "NZ Tariff Classifier" in the Teams app store. If you cannot find it, contact your Microsoft 365 administrator to check app permission policies.
04AI Usage
This app uses AI to generate tariff classification guidance. AI-generated results should be reviewed before use and do not constitute formal advice from NZ Customs. If you encounter any objectionable or incorrect AI-generated content, please report it to us at raman@cognixa.co.
